Over the last 20 years, golf has evolved into perhaps one of the most over-taught sports. Let me explain what I mean by “over- taught”: I have been introduced to some very valuable information by some of golf's finest teachers in my previous experience in the golf industry. I learned that there are fundamental ball flight laws, multiple swing patterns and a countless amount of preferences. Many teachers, including the greats, tend to talk about their own set of preferences. In reality, these preferences may work well for that particular individual, but can they work effectively for everyone else? The laws and principles on the other hand, are permanent and unchanging. They are common among successful players and professionals, while misunderstood and misinterpreted among novices and most amateurs.

I feel as though my extensive experience with TrackMan™ now allows me to teach the game in a completely new fashion. The student no longer has to waste valuable lesson time focusing on things that are not fundamental in the game of golf, i.e. grip, stance, posture, alignment and tempo. Their time is now spent on learning to move their body in a fashion to produce impact alignments that will create their desired shot shape. I feel as though my true talent as a golf instructor is my ability to explain these occurrences in a fashion in which every student can understand.

My teaching philosophy caters around the student’s learning style. Some students like to keep it as simple as possible while others like to know how everything works. Either way, I am committed to making them a better player. While it takes some students more time to achieve the results they desire, I do not subscribe to the theory that says a student should or will get worse before they get better. My goal of each lesson is to achieve better results that day while building a foundation for long-term success. It’s important to understand the cause of poor results, but more importantly, how to effectively fix them. With the use of TrackMan™, high speed video, drills, and teaching aids my students will learn how to improve their game immediately. It is my guarantee that my students will leave every lesson as a more educated golfer with better results.
